In the processes prior to electroplating, many components have machine oil, stamping oil, grinding oil, lubricants, grease, marking ink residues, etc. Degreasing is the first process step to achieve a surface suitable for electroplating. Greases, oils and pigments are dissolved and emulsified from the base material surface with the help of the degreaser so that a clean surface is available for the following process steps.

Cleaner SLOTOSIL SC 1830 is used for the cleaning of tarnished silver surfaces. It removes disturbing discolorations of the surface which are eg. caused during the rinsing processes or by storage. Discolorations caused by deposition normally cannot be removed.
