  • The cleaners SLOTOCLEAN S 20, SLOTOCLEAN 40 and SLOTOCLEAN S 80, which have an excellent cleaning and wetting effect and are an important basic requirement for filling blind vias.
  • The micro etches SLOTOCLEAN S 40 and SLOTETCH 584, which combine deoxidation with a defined etch rate depending on the application.
  • The SLOTOCOUP SF 50, SLOTOCOUP XF 60 and SLOTOCOUP SF 1960 copper baths, which are used with great success for filling and metallising structures with different geometries (conductor tracks, blind holes, through-holes).
  • The SLOTOCOUP PRT 2200 and 3300 (pulse reverse) copper baths are used to achieve conformal coating of high aspect ratios.
  • The SAT 20-1 tin baths and the new bisphenol-free SLOTOTIN MT 1460 tin bath have a high covering capacity and etch resistance even at low coating thicknesses. At the same time, the deposited tin coatings have a very low tendency to whisker formation due to their grain structure and low carbon content.
  • as well as a physical test bench developed together with iChemAnalytics to investigate whisker formation and tribological properties of coatings. The test stand is a world first and the tests can be carried out at different temperatures and in the absence of oxygen.

Schlötter also focuses on the CO2 footprint and explains the CO2 footprint of the products on offer and how CO2 emissions can be minimised when using Schlötter processes. The company has set itself the goal of becoming CO2-neutral by 2030 and would also like to support its customers and partners in this endeavour.

We look forward to your visit in Hall B3, Stand N-221

Electroplating for the energy transition

In order to establish a green hydrogen economy and to promote climate protection, reliable and resource-saving solutions from electroplating technology are needed for both the coating and the coating process of materials. For this field of application, Schlötter has developed innovative electrolytes and functional coating systems that can be used along the entire value chain. Renewable energy can thus be generated, stored, transported and used reliably and in a resource-saving manner.
The use of hydrogen as an energy carrier requires not only electrolytes and coating systems but also new testing methods. In this context, questions concerning material embrittlement (e.g. hydrogen embrittlement), hydrogen permeation as well as the barrier effect of coatings must be given special attention. To answer these questions, iChemAnalytics has developed digitized test methods that provide reliable and reproducible measurement results both in the laboratory and in the field.

Fastener Fair Global 2023

Fastener Fair Global is the meeting place for leading companies in the fastener and fixing industry and offers an ideal opportunity to exchange knowledge.

Dr.-Ing. Max Schlötter GmbH & Co.KG will present its developments in the field of electroplating processes at booth 3550 (hall 7). In addition, in cooperation with iChemAnalytics, we will be showing an innovative high-precision tension measurement instrument for in-process monitoring of materials and processes to prevent hydrogen-induced embrittlement.

  • The Pickle Degreaser SLOTOCLEAN BEF 1790 is the result of development work with the tension measurement instrument of iChemAnalytics. The result is an optimum inhibiting effect even with high-strength steel grades and a reproducibly low tendency to material defects.
  • With the patented alkaline Zinc-Nickel SLOTOLOY ZN 210 VX, energy consumption is reduced by up to 30% thanks to new innovative anode technology.
  • The boric acid-free weak acid Zinc-Nickel SLOTOLOY ZN 1000 works with a significantly lower metal content and reduces raw material costs.
  • The new innovative Sealant SLOTOFIN GM 2450 meets the current OEM requirements of MBN 10.544 and VW 01131.

We are looking forward to your visit and lively discussions in the field of electroplated coatings.

Schlötter focuses on energy saving at SurfaceTechnology 2022

SurfaceTechnology Germany is back at last! After the cancellation of the trade fair in 2020 due to Corona, the industry is looking forward to SurfaceTechnology 2022, which will take place in Stuttgart from 21-23 June 2022. Around 220 national and international exhibitors will present the most important trends in surface technology at the trade fair. SurfaceTechnology Germany has a fixed place in the trade fair calendar of Dr.-Ing. Max Schlötter GmbH & Co. KG. As a solution provider, Schlötter will be presenting holistic solutions for electroplating chemistry, plant technology and service at the trade fair (Hall 1, Stand C28). In 2022, Schlötter will also celebrate its 110th anniversary; the company was founded by Dr.-Ing. Max Schlötter in Leipzig in 1912.

Schlötter’s product highlights at SurfaceTechnology are: The patented alkaline zinc-nickel alloy baths of the SLOTOLOY ZN VX product family, SLOTOLOY ZN 210 VX (barrel application) and SLOTOLOY ZN 80 VX (rack application), which have consistently proven themselves in practice. A special anode largely prevents the formation of cyanides during deposition of the zinc-nickel layer. A low-cost alternative to membrane systems, Schlötter’s SLOTOLOY ZN VX technology has proven to reduce consumption of chemistry, nickel and energy during deposition and cooling. The overall energy required for coating and cooling is reduced by up to 35%. Together with Passivation SLOTOPAS ZNT 80 and Sealant GM 2450 , SLOTOLOY ZN VX processes form a perfect trio in terms of corrosion protection and tribological properties. Sealant GM 2450, which will also be presented in the expert forum, meets the new standards for lubricant-containing sealants for fasteners. Sealant GM 2450 fulfils the requirements of the specifications VW 01131 and MBN 10544.

Together with iChemAnalytics, Schlötter will also present a new type of test stand at their booth, which enables in-process monitoring of hydrogen absorption. Within a test period of 60 – 120 seconds, it is possible to obtain reliable key figures and process monitoring with regard to hydrogen embrittlement. Among others, it is possible to monitor hydrogen evolution in pre-treatment processes. With the pickle degreaser SLOTOCLEAN BEF 1790, Schlötter has developed a product that effectively reduces the absorption of hydrogen in the base material. This makes it possible to reduce heat treatment steps such as tempering.

Schlötter is also represented with two talks in the expert forum: In her presentation “No fear of hydrogen embrittlement – an approach for solution” (Wednesday, 22 June, from 11.00 – 11.20 a.m.), Vera Lipp, R&D team leader for PCB and electronics, will be looking at quality assurance in the surface treatment of high-strength fasteners. Oliver Daub from the R&D team for cathodic corrosion protection will present SLOTOFIN GM 2450, a“High-performance sealing for connecting elements” that meets the highest requirements for corrosion protection and friction coefficient (Wednesday, 22 June, 3.20 – 3.40 p.m.). Both talks will be translated into English

We look forward to welcoming you on our stand in Hall 1, C28.
